Coolpad takes another lesson from Xiaomi, produces its own Android STB

Coolpad’s next gadget to hit Chinese stores will be a Android set top box similar to Xiaomi’s.

We’re going off speculation and rumours for the specs so bear with us. Apparently the Coolpad “GodBox”, we assume this is going to be changed to “halo box” for international markets, will pack 4GB of storage, a dual-core processor, 512mb RAM and dual band WIFI. Those are hardly the most exhilarating specs on the planet, and the Coolpad box isn’t likely to support 4K videos as the latest Xiaomi model does, however price could be on it’s side.

Gizchina News of the week

Coolpad have already launched the Great God range of affordable phones, and if the “God Box” retails for less than 300 Yuan then their could be more than a few interested customers.
