Here's the list of phones that'll get Xiaomi MIUI 7 on October 27

Only a couple of days back did Xiaomi announce that it’ll be seeding the newest iteration of its Android fork, MIUI 7, on October 27th. However, back then the company failed to mention which of its phones would receive the update.

Good news is that we now know the model names of the 7 phones that will receive MIUI 7 on Tuesday. Keep reading to find the names!

So, if you own any of the following, you’ll be in for some MIUI 7 goodness next week: Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4, Redmi 1S 3G, Redmi 2 (or the Redmi 2 Prime), Redmi Note 4G, Mi Note and Mi Pad.

What’s surprising is that Xiaomi have omitted the Redmi Note 2 from this list. I’m sure Redmi Note 2 owners will be stoked for the MIUI 7 update.

As usual, try being on a stable and fast WiFi network before attempting the upgrade. Also, having a battery level over 50% is what they recommend for an OTA update, just to be on the safe side.

i mean i like some of their phone to some extent, but owners must be really excited about it. i saw some older model in that list. good for the keepers.

      There is only one version of the Mi4c it has only officially launched in China and all of them should be shipping with MIUI 7.

One of the reasons I love Xiaomi, they continue to support older products, anything not on the list will be supported by the MIUI community. The Mi3 is still an excellent option for someone looking for a low cost phone with near flagship performance, even better with MIUI 7.

Of course, their “flagship” Mi4i will get it NEXT YEAR, and it will be based on KitKat.
Yeah, way to go Xiaomi…. I guess a lot of of us will never ever think to buy someting from your brand

  Pošto ti vidim ime, da odgovorim na našem. 🙂 Mi4i već ima Lollipop, tako da je KitKat stvar prošlosti. I vjerovatno će dobiti MIUI 7 vrlo brzo, to se nekako podrazumijeva. Ovi sa liste su stariji telefoni za koje su to morali potvrditi, a Mi4i automatski dobija vrlo brzo, ne brini.

    ma hoce, znam da hoce dobiti…nego me zivcira taj njihov stav, preseravanje sa flagship statusom za neki uredjaj nize srednje klase (bar sto se procesora tice, za ekran svaka cast) a prema njemu se odnose gore nego da je u pitanju low end Redmi 1s.
    Soniju se zamjera sto im nadogradnja na Android6 kasni, a ovi najave nadogradnju na vec staru verziju, pa opet nadograte tek 6 mjeseci kasnije.

  The Mi4i was never the flagship for Xiaomi. The two current flagships are the Mi4 and Mi Note Pro. The Mi4i is their midrange phone, but even so does it really matter that much to you if it was based off of Kit Kat or not? Is there something in Lollipop you 100% need? If you have a stable working UI, what’s it matter?

      Seeing as Windows XP is no longer supported by Msoft that is in an invalid comparison. Windows 8 would have been better for your argument. Try again!

        If your going to make a comparison make a valid one. Most people would actually prefer XP over 8 or 10 though so it’s probably best to not bring Windows up.

    you say Mi4i is not a flagship, i think same, BUT ….XIAOMI says it is flagship…still, they do not act as it is.
    read on their page.
    dude, i have bought this half baked “smartphone” and if you did same, you wuld be angry at Xiaomi as i am.
    and i don’t know how to reply to your last question, i meen, why to do en upgrade!? why does anyone do upgrades? why do we shop new phones every 6 months!?
    no, we don’t need it, but still…some apps need them, security for android need upgrades…this phone suport 64bit OS,and should we be stuck with 32bit one???
    and at the end, why is not geting update on time bad for Samsung or Sony, and to Xiaomi it’s not a problem?

      Xiaomi says it is for marketing reasons but it’s no where near a flagship phone.
      I would be pissed too if I bought it, that was one of Xiaomi’s worst phones ever made.
      Your reply was exactly what I was looking for. You have no clue why you want or need Lollipop. In fact your phone already has it and you don’t even know it. My entire point was if your phone is being updated, it doesn’t really matter what version of Android it is running as long as Xiaomi continues to support it. Your phone has a 64 bit SoC and runs a 64 bit OS so you will have no problems in the future (although we are still years from Android being fully 64 bit, most apps are still 32).

        I did not say “I need update”…as i don’t, i wrote that it’s a big problem if Sony, Samsung or someone other don’t do update and if Xiaomi skip it, it’s ok.
        So, no i don’t need it, i know what i have, but however, some apps are supported only on newest version of OS, Google security is also better on newest version of OS.
        But still, you did write one truth here :

        You have no clue what you have it’s evident by your posts. The apps that are Lollipop only are few and far between and most can still be run on Kit Kat with a few tweaks. As far as security patches they have been a nightmare for Google. Lollipop was one of the worst versions of Android in terms of bugs and security holes. So once again, no you don’t know what you need.
        Xiaomi can call anything a flagship, as can any other company. But the industry and the market determines whether it is or isn’t a flagship. And a phone with a SD 615 is not a flagship. Every company in every industry is a “lier”, if you only buy products from honest companies you won’t have a cell phone lol.

        you see, i am not ok with that.
        i know what i have bought, i knowed before i did that… and i don’t need real flaghip (MI4 was pretty much same price), but still did not expect so many flows.
        tweaks!? again, should i be developer? should my mother know more then just to use f***ng phone!?
        you know how their updaes works…they are fixing some small bugs, but still we need to flas whole new SW.
        MIUI is working bether OS for other manufactures…

        I am saying every single company lies. Believing an multi million dollar corporation is about the same as believing a politician. Is it right? No, but it happens every day with every product.
        MIUI isnt the source of your issues it’s the SD615, every phone that has that chip has issues even ones that run stock Android. Every Xiaomi phone including Mi4, Mi3, Redmi, Mi Note and even Mi Pad has weekly updates. It’s how MIUI is set up. I would much rather have a company that recognizes it’s mistakes and tries to fix them then one who ignores it (like most of the others do).

        Well, half baked OS, with so many bugs… They had to do updates every week, 4 months in row just to make it work. Apps are falling down, RAM was used fully all the time, battery can’t do more then 3,5h of SoT, it overheats device, camera had problem, touch screen also… They dis not test device before selling it, we, first buyers ware their testers.

        EVERY Xiaomi product does updates every week. That is how MIUI works, every Friday it updates itself with new security fixes and patches the community finds. All the problems you are experiencing are the result of the SoC (SD615) not MIUI, those problems exist on every phone with that SoC.

        yes, it’s about SoC, but Xiaomi mada a phone with it…and this every weeks updates (there is no updates for 2 months now, they expect us to update manualy to beta version and again test it for them) htere was more bugs then in first version. they “fixed” a lot of things, but biggest problems have remain. and it’s up to MIUI that phone wit battery larger then 3000mAh can’t do full day of usage.

        Again it’s not MIUI that’s causing your problems, its the SD615. They can only do so much on their side. The processor (SD615) is so poorly designed and it is the reason you don’t get a full day on 3000mAh. I have used Sd615 phones with other UI’s and its the same thing.

        well, Xiaomi did make phone with that SoC, not me or you.
        still some other phones with same SoC does have better battery life even with smaller battery ( let’s say ZTE Blade s6, and that is way smaller battery, but still do same SoT time as Mi4i does).

        The Blade S6 has a 720p display, Mi4i is 1080p. 720p phones will have much better bettery life. I know someone with a Blade and he has just as many performance issues as you do. ZTE has released multiple updates for it and it still has problems.

        Me and you must be using a different device because I don’t have those problems. I.am still waiting for this device to overheat or constantly crash. I don’t have apps falling down and I think the battery is great. I.love using sorry you are having so many problems I am not on the beta tester I use the stable version.

  This is mostly marketing for Xiaomi and a chance to sell some older models. It’s no coincidence that there are 7 devices on the list for MIUI 7. The Chinese version of the Redmi Note 2 already runs MIUI 7, the global version will receive an update at some point. Xiaomi won’t update phones just to update them they make sure everything actually works on the device in question to limit the amount of bugs (every OS will always have some bugs present, there is too much too account for to ever be bug free).

    The chinese version of Redmi Note 2 runs on MIUI 7 beta, its not official stable version. I know, i own one, just got latest update today. I think though, that the stable update is coming out soon, because the beta is so stable allready.

      Xiaomi usually releases the newest version for the Chinese audience first and then once it is working they port it to other languages for international use.

      Redmi note 2 hasn’t been released outside of China. So why people whine about miui 7 here?. I am sure this is list of handsets which will get global rom.

    I am using miui 7 beta for redmi note 3g, But it is still kitkat. Only few of their models have miui 7 which is actually based on android 5.0. I would like to avoid android 5.0 as it has known bugs. Better if they had opted for android 5.1.1 or 6.0 instead.

      The official builds of MIUI 7 are based on 5.1. The beta builds were more showing you what 7 is capable of and those were based off everything from 4.0 to 5.1 depending on which model you had. But all 7 of the officially announced devices will be running 5.1.
