This comes from HMD Global directly guys so I guess is as official as it gets. The company confirmed the rumors today, mentioning that the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 models will be among the first – globally- to get the Android O update – when it becomes official.

Google has been working on the development of the latest version of its operating system and they are expected to release it sometime by the 3rd quarter of this year. Note that HMD Global confirmed the update but didn’t mention any time frames – obviously because we don’t know when the OS will be released officially.
