Vivo V7+ to be unveiled on the 7th of September

Successor to the V5, the Vivo V7+ is all set to be unveiled on the 7th of September in India. Vivo sent out invitations for the launch event which will be held in Mumbai, India. The press invite boasts the front of the phone which has a display with really thin bezels.

Vivo is touring the Vivo V7+ as having a revolutionary selfie camera, with the tagline saying,” Clear Shot. Clear Moment.”. Vivo has pioneered the dual selfie camera setup in smartphones with their previous smartphones, the Vivo V5, V5S and V5S Plus. The V7+ might have a dual selfie camera setup too. The display panel seems to have a high screen to body ratio, something many manufacturers are trying to achieve after Samsung set the bar very high thanks to the Galaxy S8 smartphones.

Gizchina News of the week

On the spec front, the Vivo V7+ will sport a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p. Under the hood will lie a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM expandable via microSD card. It is expected to be powered by a 3,500mAh battery and run Android Nougat out of the box. There is no word on the date when it hits the market, but it shouldn’t be far from the launch date. How did Samsung set the bar for screen to body ratio? Isn’t xiaomi the one that set it real high?

Then it would be Sharp, with their full screen Aquos that sold long before Mi Mix ^^ BTW I think Kabir was referring to the 18:9 ratio with slim upper/bottom bezel, which is without any question Sammy S8 design.

Sharp aquos crystal X had 81% usable surface in december 2014. That was a huge technological upgrade 3 years ago because every other phones had 70% usable surface top. Plus they invented the triple-bezel-less design and already had a screen without any black border back in 2014.
Xiaomi made their own “Aquos Crystal” and upgraded it to 90% usable surface 2 years later. That’s cool but they didn’t invented anything.
