Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 (2017) Gets Update For Improved Selfie Focus & Others

A new update is available for the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and A7 (2017). These smartphones received the December patch with a hand full of new camera functions. One of the talking points of the camera improvements is the selfie focus. With this mode, you can just simply enable Selfie focus and take a photograph without choosing a subject or tapping on the screen to adjust background blur after a photo is taken. This feature works better with a good lighting environment.

In addition to the selfie focus, this update also comes with color correction option which allows users to tone the color of their skin using the front camera. This feature can be accessed by tapping the beauty effects icon. The rear camera was also improved with the addition of augmented reality (AR) stickers and stamps.

This update also comes with a new security patch but this is highly inconsistent as some units are getting the December security patch while others are getting the November security patch. If you own a Galaxy A5 (2017) or Galaxy A7 (2017), just head to “Settings” and click on “Download updates manually” to get this update manually.
