Today at MWC 2018 held in Shanghai, Huawei’s chairman, Xu Zhijun, said in his speech that the company will launch a full set of 5G commercial network solutions based on Non-Independent Network (NSA) on September 30, 2018. In addition, he also revealed that Huawei will launch Kirin chips which supports 5G network in 2019 and Huawei’s 5G-enabled smartphones will also arrive next year.

Due to the integration of a stronger encryption algorithm, privacy protection, and authentication mechanisms, the security mechanism has become stronger, which means that 5G is more secure than 4G.
He said that Huawei has issued a statement on May 15, 2018, stating that Huawei as the main contributor and patentee of the 5G standard will continue to abide by the FRAND principle; Huawei is willing to cooperate with standard partners in the 5G industry and it will share more innovative technologies so as to build a healthy 5G ecological environment through open and equal cooperation.
