Starting 2019, 5G will become the main theme of the mobile industry, and mobile phone manufacturers are following this trend such as OPPO.
Today, the company officially announced that they have successfully completed the connection of 5G signaling and data links based on a commercially available mobile phone.
It is noteworthy that Qualcomm had announced earlier a partnership with Oppo to make 5G smartphones, and the US chip maker will provide comprehensive solutions such as the radio frequency front-end field to OPPO.
It is reported that the connection is realized by a commercial 5G smartphone developed based on OPPO R15 with built-in Qualcomm X50 5G baseband, and the successful connection of signaling and data links adopts 20MHz bandwidth of 5G n78 band.
5G Smartphones are coming by 2019
For the first 5G smartphones to be launched in 2019, the n78 frequency band has great significance. This is one of the most widely used 5G bands in the world.
Liu Chang, president of the OPPO Research Institute, said that the company will accelerate the development of their 5G smartphones for the expected release of 5G smartphones commercially in 2019.
It is to highlight that before the end of the R17 conference, the marketing director Shen Yiren said that the company will be at the first batch, and may even be the first brand to release real 5G commercial smartphones.
