Huawei’s LCD supplier bars employees from buying Apple iPhones

The tit-for-tat between the two World powers- the USA and China appears not to be having an end in sight. ZTE suffered a huge loss due to the imbroglio and it appears to be having a toll on Huawei as its risks an import ban in the US if found wanting of a recent allegation by the US authorities.

Though China and its firm appear to be at the receiving end of the conflict, the chinse on their part isn’t resting, but will always try all it can to ensure businesses in China aren’t harmed— whether Chinese or foreign, according to Finance Minister Liu Kun.

However, in what appears to be a reprisal attack from a Chinse firm is one that could have minimal effect on Apple and its line of products in China.  The response is coming from a  Shenzhen based firm – Menpad who has announced that it will henceforth deal decisively with any of its employee that buys the iPhones.

To effect this, South China Post reports that the company plans to impose a penalty equal to the market price of the purchased iPhone model, while it also promised to return 15 percent of the purchase price to any employee who purchases any of the Huawei or ZTE phones.

We arent how many employees are on its paybook, and so can not sure how this will impact on the sale figure of the iPhones in the country. The latest move from the company appears to be a protest to the ordeal faced by other Chinse firms in the U.S. Menpad is a Shenzhen-based LCD display maker and a major supplier to Huawei, so its actions are not totally out of place.
