Japanese company, Sony has filed for a trademark with the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) called “CinemaWide”. This application falls into ‘Class 9’ which is reserved for smartphones, tablets, displays, apps for phones, etc. This trademark could be for many things but with the Sony Xperia XZ4 on the way, it is most likely that the company will bring its 21:9 ultra-wide display to the market as “CinemaWide”.
From what we know, this display has a display resolution of 3360 x 1440 and the screen should be 6.5-inches. It is expected that the Xperia XZ4 will be released at Sony’s MWC event on February 25 in Barcelona, Spain. Looking at the configuration of this smartphone, it will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, this smartphone will come with a triple rear camera setup and will use the highest-ever pixel camera. One of the rear sensors is a 52MP f/1.6 shooter. This lens is supported by a 16MP telephoto camera and a 0.3MP ToF sensor. It should run on Android 9 Pie and its lights will be kept on by a decent 4400 mAh battery.
