At today’s China Telecom 5G Innovation Cooperation Conference, Xu Zhijun, vice chairman of Huawei, said in his speech that there are two major needs in the Chinese market in the 5G era: eMBB (enhanced mobile broadband) and industry digitalization. He believes that 5G will increase the production efficiency of smart medical and smart industries by 10 times. “I recently participated in the Shanghai Auto Show. I heard a lot of people talking about 5G. We have done 5G for more than ten years. I still don’t know what 5G is after…” Xu Zhijun joked.
For individuals, single-user traffic continues to rise, and 5G continues to improve the user experience at a cost of one-tenth of a unit. For the industry, 5G will increase the productivity of smart healthcare and smart industries by 10 times. “Industry digitalization requires 5G SA”, Xu Zhijun said. He further stated that “only SA networking mode can achieve the three major application scenarios of eMBB, mMTC and uRLLC, and finally achieve high rate (10Gbps), low latency (1ms) and large connections.”
Huawei’s 5G solution supports NSA/SA networking mode simultaneously. Whether you are dealing with its chips, base stations, converged core networks and terminals, they all support NSA/SA. At this year’s MWC, China Telecom and Huawei jointly established BJIC, a commercial joint innovation center, to enable digital industrial innovation in the industry.
