90Hz display refresh rates will become standard for all future Oneplus phones


We’ve known for mitns now that the Oneplus 7T would be landing this month, and here we finally have. Oneplus at a scheduled event in India, today announced the Oneplus 7T. The device come with a little smaller screen and has a slightly lower resolution than the Pro from earlier this year all at a slightly lower price tag.  It comes fitted with a 6.55-inch 1080p OLED panel that is as superb as the larger Oneplus 7 Pro all thanks to a high refresh rate. Yes, you read that right, the 90Hz Display refresh rate on the Oneplus 7 Pro trickles down to the 7T, and going forward would feature in all Oneplus smartphones.

Wrapping off the launch event earlier today in India, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei specifically announced that all future Oneplus smartphone will come with its Fluid display featuring a 90Hz Display refresh rate higher than the 60Hz mostly found in most devices. Although there are a few devices with even higher refresh rates, Oneplus latest move is quite laudable and could spur other OEMs to embrace the trend.

Not only will the 90Hz refresh rate form part of the firm’s Fluid display, the co-founder rightly pointed out that it will throw in a few software optimizations, as well as the right hardware configurations to ensure smoother user experience.

Higher refresh rates are all the rage right now, and all major industry player appears to be jumping on the bandwagon. Google itself is embracing the trend soon with its upcoming Pixel 4 and might be coming to even cheaper devices pretty soon.
