Realme X50 5G coming before January 25 with Snapdragon 765G

With the curtains of 2019 ready to close, some companies have already moved their efforts to the 2020 season of smartphone releases. Realme is one of these companies set to reveal a new 5G smartphone as soon as in the next month. The new device will come under Realme X50 moniker and will boast the highly-anticipated Snapdragon 765G chipset. The company hasn’t revealed the launch date yet, we’ll likely see it go official before the Spring Festival in China.

The new report comes directly from Realme’s product manager Wang Derek. He answered a query on Weibo confirming that the Realme X50 5G will arrive before the Spring Festival. The 2020’s Chinese holiday will happen on January 25.

Seeing the involvement of Realme’s official in the query, users asked if the X50 5G will also come with a 120Hz display. Derek responded with another question “If so, would you buy it?”. The smartphone will be Realme’s direct response to Xiaomi’s Redmi K30 which has a 120Hz display. However, only time will tell if Realme will employ such technology in a mid-range device that could be cheaper than the K30.

Besides the new chipset, Realme also confirmed that the X50 5G will feature a display with a punch-hole in the top-left corner for the two selfie snappers.
