Asus IPS gaming monitor released: 280Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time

Taiwanese manufacturer, Asus, is one of the major players in the gaming industry. The company has a plethora of gaming products including smartphones, laptops, monitors, and gaming accessories. According to recent official reports, Asus has a new TUF GAMING e-sports product – Asus VG279QM e-sports monitor. The new Asus IPS gaming monitor supports a 27-inch 1080p  display, 280Hz refresh rate + 1ms GTG. It comes with a 3299 yuan ($472) price tag.

According to reports, this is the second high-speed IPS gaming monitor from Asus. The Asus VG279QM comes with an advanced next-generation Fast IPS panel, which provides a high refresh rate of up to 280Hz. It also makes the GTG grayscale response time of the LCD screen only 1ms. The new Asus IPS gaming monitor also comes with an exclusive ASUS ELMB SYNC motion picture clarity technology.

In addition, the ASUS VG279QM gaming monitor also has HDR high dynamic range technology and ASUS shadow enhancement technology. It is compatible with industry-standard HDR-10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.

Before the Asus VG279QM, the company released the Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ which sits in the entry-level TUF line-up of gaming monitors. Despite this, the VG27AQ is actually one of the first products to feature Asus’ new proprietary “ELMB-Sync” technology, allowing for the potentially game-changing combination of motion blur reduction with variable refresh rates. Being essentially algorithmically adaptive backlight strobing, ELMB-Sync can be thought of like a traditional strobing blur reduction backlight, but instead of constraining users to a fixed refresh rate it works across the panel’s full range. In-game motion blur during high-paced scenes can be significant without resorting to capped frame rates and V-Sync.

As of now, this product is already available on Jingdong Mall (Arrival Notice). It will be a good one for extreme gamers. What do you think about this new IPS gaming monitor? Let us know your thoughts in the comment below.
