According to media MacRumors report, UBS analysts, Timothy Arcuri and Munjal Shah said that Apple plans to release one 5.4-inch, one 6.7-inch, and two 6.1-inch iPhone models in 2020. Analysts expect that all four iPhones will have OLED screens. However, other specifications such as camera and RAM will vary by model.
According to the research by these analysts, below is the overview of the four iPhones which should arrive next year
- 6.7-inch iPhone: 6GB RAM, triple rear cameras (supports 3D Sensing)
- 6.1-inch iPhone: 6GB RAM, triple rear cameras (supports 3D Sensing)
- 6.1-inch iPhone: 4GB of RAM, dual rear cameras
- 5.4-inch iPhone: 4GB of RAM, dual rear cameras
The camera specifications are in line with the specifications of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In addition, the 6GB RAM in the top models is in line with Barclays analysts’ forecasts in November 2019. In 2020, 5G will become an important feature of high-end iPhones. UBS also surveyed more than 9,000 consumers in China, the United States, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom, and found that 22% of respondents believe 5G is a reason to upgrade their smartphones. Initially, it seems like Apple will fall behind in the 5G competition. However, with its 5G phones due to arrive this year, Apple is clearly still in the game to win.
