Vivo NEX 3s is Official with 99.6% StB and UFS 3.1 Memory

Chinese phone maker – Vivo – just launched the successor of the Vivo NEX 3 previously released in September of 2019. The new smartphone is named Vivo NEX 3s 5G and it brings a few but significant changes; let’s have a closer look!

Starting with the internal configuration which has been completely upgraded. The NEX 3s 5G does indeed sport the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship CPU along with a Snapdragon X55 modem. This means the smartphone now supports NSA + SA dual-mode 5G, with a theoretical download rate that can reach 3.3Gbps, while under the ideal 5G network environment, the actual download speeds can reach over 2700Mbps and over 170Mbps for uploads.

Another big upgrade is the adoption of LPDDR5 RAM over the older LPDDR4x RAM; bringing a bandwidth increase of 28.9%. Meanwhile flash memory has been upgraded to UFS3.1; along with support for TurboWrite and HPB technology. These technologies allow the smartphone to increase its sequential read speeds by 137% and increase sequential write speeds by 192% compared to UFS 2.1. As far as amount of RAM and storage, the NEX 3s 5G tops at 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. Finally, talking about fast data, the smartphone also supports Wi-Fi 6 and dual Wi-Fi acceleration technology for an improvement in download speeds of up to 193%.

As far as other specs are concerned, the Vivo NEX 3s 5G packs a large 6.89-inch E3 Super AMOLED display for a 99.6% screen-to-body ratio, which supports 100% P3 wide color gamut, sRGB and HDR10 standards.

Photography wise, the smartphone packs a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture; paired with a 13MP telephoto lens and a third 13MP ultra wide camera (120 degree field of view).

Finally, Vivo’s new flagship boasts a good 4500mAh capacity battery with support for 44W fast charging, it keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack and features an NFC module for electronic payments and more.

The Vivo NEX 3S 5G has a starting price of 4998 Yuan ($719) for 8GB + 256GB version and 5298 Yuan ($762) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Sales kick off in China on March 14th.
