Vivo S6 5G with Exynos 980 spotted at GeekBench

Vivo S6 5G

The Chinese phone maker, Vivo, is gearing up to unveil the Vivo S6 5G on March 31. The device is part of the company’s plans of filling the market with more 5G phones. We already saw a couple of teasers for the S6, and it even paid a visit to the Chinese TENAA. However, one thing still remains a mystery – Which chipset will be powering it? Today, we got the answer.

If you were waiting for Snapdragon 765G or a Dimensity SoC, then you’ll be disappointed. Especially if you’re not a fan of Samsung Exynos chipsets. According to a GeekBench 5.1 result, the powerhouse of S6 is the Exynos 980 SoC. Which features an integrated 5G modem. Instead of going with MediaTek or Qualcomm solutions, the Chinese firm opted for keeping its partnership with Samsung. For instance, the very same SoC is present on the Vivo X30 and X30 Pro.
