Mi 9 Pro 5G finally is getting Android 10 update

Xiaomi definitively crossed some milestones with the Mi 9 Pro 5G. The device was released in the last year as the company’s first 5G smartphone available. In fact, it was the most affordable 5G phone on its days. Just now we’re starting 5G phone price starting to decrease with the arrival of mid-range chipsets featuring 5G connectivity. In 2019, the Mi 9 Pro 5G was one of the most accessible options for those wanting to surf in the 5G unexplored waters. Despite this crown, users of this smartphone have been disappointed with the lack of an Android 10 update. Well, it seems that Xiaomi is finally hearing their claim and is rolling out the long-awaited update.

Worth noting that this update still carries the “Beta” status. For that reason, it is only reaching users that are enrolled in the beta-testing program. But still, it’s better than nothing. If the company manages to address all the bugs present in the firmware, it should not take more than a few weeks to roll out a stable release for all users.

It took Xiaomi around six months to release the first Android 10 update for the device that was released in the second half of 2019. It was running Android 9 Pie with MIUI 11 running atop. Apart from all the incremental changes the new software version includes March 2020 security patch.
