Nubia Play 5G

After launching its flagship gaming smartphone, Nubia is now gearing up for the launch of a cheaper device dubbed Nubia Play 5G. The device will go official as soon as April 21. Today, the company’s CEO Ni Fei shared some details of the gaming phone’s cameras at Weibo. Along with it, we also have some beautiful shots taken with the device.

The Nubia Play 5G will boast a quad-camera setup comprising a main 48MP shooter. It’s Sony’s IMX586 module. Besides it, there’s also a 12MP selfie snapper. While official details about the quad-camera setup are yet to come, we expect to see it accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle module, macro and depth modules. The Weibo post reveals a total of six samples taken with the main shooter in macro, day and night environments.

We also have a single selfie sample taken with the 12MP snapper:

Besides the great camera capabilities, the handset will also come with a massive 5,100mAh battery and 30W fast-charging. To bring the price down, Nubia equipped this handset with the mid-range 5G SoC Snapdragon 765G. We also expect Android 10 complete with all Nubia specific changes in the software. More details may keep popping out in the coming days as the device is nearing the shores.
