Gizchina News of the week

LG has so far revealed only three pieces of information on the LG Velvet device. First, the smartphone will arrive with an octa-core (8x Kryo 475; 7 nm) 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor with the Adreno 620 graphics chip and an integrated 5G Snapdragon X52 modem. So this will be the first non-flagship of the brand to support the fifth-generation network. Secondly, this model will also have a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone connector.

The latest reports complement our information on the technical specifications of LG Velvet with further data. The smartphone has dimensions of 167.1x74x7.85 mm and weighs 180 grams. So it will be slightly smaller and lighter than LG V60 ThinQ 5G with a 6.8-inch display. The upcoming novelty will probably arrive with a smaller screen (6.7-inch probably).

LG Velvet will also offer 8 GB RAM and 128 GB built-in memory with the possibility of expansion with a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 2 TB. Alongside a single camera with a resolution of 16MP on the front and stereo speakers. The rear panel of the smartphone will have a triple 48MP + 8MP camera with a wide-angle + 5MP lens for measuring depth.

The LG Velvet will have a 4300 mAh battery with support for fast charging. The device housing is to be reinforced by a dust and waterproof (IP68) certificate. Unofficially, it is also said that the manufacturer will prepare a dedicated LG Dual Screen also for this model.

The price of LG Velvet is still unknown. But looking at the specification, we expect that the smartphone will cost at least $700 (similar to the recent Motorola Edge).

They should’ve went with Dimensity 1000 (non-L version) chipset which is A LOT faster and more power efficient than SD765, a pop-up front camera mechanism would be only the solution for full view, and bigger battery (4500 is minimum nowadays!). To gain success they have to be different than others.
