Global sales of Redmi Note 8 series exceed 30 million units

This morning, Xiaomi Group Vice President and general manager of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing announced on Weibo that global sales of the Redmi Note 8 series have exceeded 30 million units. According to the company, the Redmi Note 8 series surpassed 1 million units in its first month of sales. After two months of sales, it hit 5 million units and in three months, this series sold over 10 million units. This statistics show that it is two months faster than the Redmi Note 7 series. Recall that the Redmi Note 7 series was in the market for five months before it hit the 10 million unit mark.

Furthermore, within the first five months, the Redmi Note 8 series shipment exceeded 20 million units. The Note 8 series is the only Chinese manufacturer to make the list in Canalys’ global mobile phone sales ranking for the fourth quarter of 2019. These impressive performances also yield a positive result in the stock market for Xiaomi.

This morning, Xiaomi Group Hong Kong’s shares rose by nearly 5%. As of press time, Xiaomi Group was up 4.56 percent at HK$10.540, with a market capitalization of HK$253.040 billion (about RMB 231.425 billion).
