As previously teased, this morning, Xiaomi released its second WiFi 6 router – Xiaomi Mi Router AX1800. This router comes with a 329 yuan ($46) price tag. However, the pre-sale for this device starts at 10 am on Friday 15th May. Buyers that participate in the pre-sale will enjoy a 30 yuan ($4) price cut and the final price will be 299 yuan ($42).
The Xiaomi Mi Router AX1800 adopts a cube design. It is internally called a Cool Black Magic Cube. The top of this device has an inner triangle splicing shape similar to a block. Furthermore, it has two hidden antennas that can achieve 360-degree signal coverage. To keep the device stable, Xiaomi includes an internal tower cooling structure. It also has a large channel convection and large metal heat sink for proper heat dissipation.
In terms of configuration, the AX1800 uses a Qualcomm 5-core enterprise chip (4-core A53 1.2GHz + independent NPU) IPQ6000, 256MB RAM, 128MB ROM, 1 gigabit WAN port and 3 gigabit LAN ports.
In terms of signal speed, the 2.4GHz/5GHz frequencies both support two Qorvo high-performance independent signal amplifiers. This improves the coverage by 50% and increases the signal strength by 4dB. It achieves a parallel wireless speed of up to 1775Mbps, downloading an HD movie in 8 seconds. This is a 52% improvement over the AC1200 router.
Xiaomi Mi Router AX1800 advance features
The Xiaomi Mi Router AX1800 include OFDMA support (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access). This permits the router to send data to multiple devices with a single one transmission. Furthermore, other advanced features include mesh networking, Mijia APP free access, 128 devices stable connection, free 3 months of the Tencent Accelerator, etc.
The Tencent Accelerator comes with deep customization that allows it to accelerate the online gaming experience. The launch of this new router from Xiaomi is just a few months after the release of the Xiaomi Mi AIoT AX3600 router, the company’s first WiFi 6 router.
