Honor Play 4 color options surface in official banners

Honor will unveil in the coming days two new devices to complete its Play lineup. According to reports, the new handset will go official on June 3 and will carry Honor Play 4 and Play 4 Pro monikers. Today, a couple of official banners were revealed via Weibo showing the Honor Play 4 in three different color options.

The posts were revealed by one of Honor’s managers and reveal the handset in the multiple colorways. Unfortunately, there’s no much variety and the handset will ship in White, Black, and Blue colors. The latter seems to have some gradient effect going on and it’s the most different color you get if you’re not a fan of conventional colors. Officially, that’s about as much as we know about the Play 4 at the moment.

However, a device appeared in TENAA, and apparently, it’s the Honor Play 4. It sports a 6.81-inch display with FHD+ resolution. The panel is of the LCD kind and also comes with a punch-hole for the 16MP selfie shooter. According to the listing, it will come in many variants with 4GB, 6GB, and even 8GB of RAM. Storage-wise we also get 64GB, 128GB and 256GB sizes. The camera department consists in a Quad-Camera setup comprising a 64MP main shooter, an 8MP secondary snapper, and two 2MP modules. Perhaps one of these last modules will act as a depth sensor while the other will operate for macro shots.

The handset has a 4,200mAh battery, weighs in at 213g, and has 170 x 78.5 x 8.9mm overall dimensions. Unfortunately, the chipset delivering performance under the hood still is a mystery. We know, however, that it’s an octa-core chipset with a 2.0GHz clock. For that reason, the MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC is a viable candidate. When it comes to the Honor Play 4 Pro it will ship with the Kirin 820 SoC. Moreover, it will have Sony’s IMX600y sensor, the same used on the Honor X10, 40W fast-charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
