Samsung Galaxy A01 Core specifications confirmed by Google

Samsung is preparing a new ultra-affordable smartphone for emerging and developing markets dubbed Galaxy A01 Core. This particular device will be even weaker than the recently released Galaxy A01. The phone was recently certified by Bluetooth SIG confirming Bluetooth 5.0 support. Today, the handset visited Google Play Console, which gave us the key specifications as well as an image of the handset.

Galaxy A01 Core specifications

If you’re an avid fan of powerful hardware in smartphones, the Galaxy A01 Core is anything but interesting. First of all, the devices come with an outdated MT6739WW chipset. That’s a rare platform, and it’s far from being impressive and not even worth carrying an Helio moniker. This chipset already appeared in the Nokia 1 Plus. It consists in a Quad-Core CPU with 4x Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.5GHz. The chipset will be paired with 1GB of RAM. You probably won’t have problems opening your apps, but that amount of RAM means that it will be reloading apps all the time in the background.

The device has HD+ resolution and Android 10 straight out of the box. Unfortunately, we don’t know if it’s a full-featured version or the lightweight Go Edition. Or bet is Android Go, after all, we don’t think that a device with this hardware can’t give a satisfactory performance with Android 10-based One UI 2.0. According to Wi-Fi Alliance, the device has an SM-A013F model number, but there is an SM-A013F_DS model that suggests a variant with single SIM support and another one with dual SIM support. The device has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support. We expect it to come with the same battery capacity of 3,000mAh as its sibling.

When it comes to the smartphone design, the Google console listing shows an image of the handset. We can see a very traditional design marked by huge bezels on top and bottom parts. All these leaks confirm that the handset is pretty much nearing the shores. However, we are curious to see its performance in the market.

For a quick comparison, Samsung has the vanilla Galaxy A01 which features a 5.7-inch Infinity-V display with HD+ resolution. The handset has an Octa-Core chipset with a 1.95GHz clock. One of its variants offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage plus microSD card support. The device is powered by a standard 3,000mAh battery and offers a 3.5mm headphone jack.
