Since AirPods, major technology giants such as Google, Microsoft, and various mobile phone manufacturers have launched their own true wireless headphones. These companies have technically seized the mobile phone accessory market. Recently, LG also launched its own true wireless headphones – TONE Free HBS-FN6. In addition to providing high-quality wireless audio and a convenient way of wearing, it also has a unique function – can be sterilized by ultraviolet light.
According to the official rendering, the power box of the TONE free HBS-FN6 is equipped with an ultraviolet sterilization lamp. It can sterilize the headphones when they are in storage and charging. According to the official statement, earphones, especially in-ear earphones, will accumulate a lot of dirt, including invisible bacteria, and the bacteria contain even more than the kitchen cutting board. If the user does not have the habit of regular cleaning, these earphones are likely to induce inflammation. This can cause significant damage to the user’s health.
LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 headset has two versions
Except for the sterilization function, the function of this true wireless headset is the same as that of the general TWS headset. It comes with the regular virtual stereo and ambient sound monitoring. However, it does not support active noise reduction, only passive noise reduction can be achieved by the in-ear design. Its waterproof level is only IPX4, so be more careful in daily use.
In addition to the ultraviolet sterilization version, there is a cheaper version with no sterilization function. The two versions are different in appearance design, thus users of these versions can not use the charging box interchangeably.
As of now, the official price of these devices is not in the public domain. However, LG plans to first launch these devices in the European and US markets next month. If the South Korean manufacturer can find a way keep the prices average, it might just be a device to try out.
