The standard version of the Galaxy Tab S7 won’t get an in-display fingerprint scanner

As we wrote recently, Samsung most likely will not show the successor to the Galaxy Fold at its major presentation, scheduled for August 5th. However, the company still has interesting new products awaiting market entry. Along with two new smartphones – Note 20 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, we will also see two new flagship tablets called Galaxy Tab S7.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 won’t get an in-display fingerprint scanner

Less than a day ago, a press release about the new tablet leaked to the Network, and now we know almost everything about it. It is known for certain that the company will release two sizes of the Galaxy Tab S7: 11 and 12.4 inches. The users will notice an external resemblance to the iPad Pro line. But it seems that this is not enough to lure fans of the Apple brand.

The 11-inch version of the tablet, apparently, will not have a fingerprint scanner built into the display. Instead, the manufacturer installed an old-style scanner in the power button on the side.

But not everything is so bad. In the larger version, a sensor will be installed under the display. At the moment, it is not known whether it will be optical (as in most Chinese smartphones) or ultrasound (as in Samsung’s flagship devices).

One way or another, it is obvious that the two options will be very similar in appearance and in characteristics. They will work on the basis of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset, with support for 5G networks and the S Pen proprietary stylus. The S7+ will have a 10.090mAh battery, while the S7 will have a 7.700-7.800 mAh battery. The screens, of course, will be made using AMOLED technology, and the speakers from AKG. None of the models will have protection against water and dust.

Unlike the vanilla variant, we now have the first live images of the Galaxy Tab S7+. These images are coming directly from Safety Korea’s website. As per the listing, the tablet will arrive with a 12.4-inch AMOLED panel measuring 280mm in length and 185mm in width. We saw two different model numbers namely SM-T975N and SM-T976N. It suggests we will see LTE and 5G version as well. The live images showcase both the front and rear of the tablet.

As per the images, it looks like the tablet has a metal body along with dual-camera setup on the back accompanied by an LED flash. It appears to also have a dedicated area to store the bundled S-Pen as well. You can also see the AKG branding on the rear. On the front, we’re looking at a selfie camera placed in the middle of the side bezels. This makes sense considering the tablet is generally used vertically.
