Redmi Note 9 Pro Starts Receiving MIUI 12 Update in India

AXiaomi’s latest budget Redmi Note series offering, the Redmi Note 9 Pro which was launched with the Snapdragon 720G, 48-megapixel quad-camera array and more has now started to receive a new update with MIUI 12 onboard. The update is based on MIUI 12 and is rolling out for the Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with build number V12.0.1.0.QJWINXM and weighing 755MB in size (via PiunikaWeb).

This is a stable build and not a beta, and hence so we recommend users to update their device to this build as soon as possible. The update is based on Android 10 Q. Similar to all the other updates,  this OTA update is rolling out in  over the air. This is a planned rollout so it may take some time to be available in all handsets.

For changes, The update brings software optimization and promises to provide a better user experience. Along with all the optimizations, it also improves the security and performance of the device while bumping up the software version. It also addresses many bugs which were reported in the previous build.

Thus, if you have not gotten this update, just exercise some patience. Alternatively, you can go to settings to check for available updates manually.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 9 Pro features the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G just like the Note 9 Pro Max and Realme 6 Pro. On the front, the handset comes fitted with a 6.67-inches FHD+ IPS LCD screen with a centred punch-hole accommodating a 16MP selfie camera. Whereas, on the back, it features a square camera array consisting of four cameras – 48MP (primary), 8MP (ultra-wide), 5MP (macro), and 2MP (depth). Other features of the phone include 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, dedicated microSD card, NAVIC support, and P2i coating for water resistance.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box and gets its fuel from a huge 5,020mAh battery, which can be charged at a rate of 18W with the included charger.

The device comes in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black colour options. Last but not least, the handset will retail for INR 12,999 ($175) and INR 15,999 ($215) for the 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB storage variants respectively from 17th March on Mi.com, Amazon India, and Mi Stores across India.
