Samsung Galaxy S20 FE gets new update with touchscreen improvements

Samsung starts rolling out a new firmware update to its Galaxy S20 FE smartphone. The update includes various optimizations along with the improvements in the Touchscreen responsiveness. The firmware version G78xxXXU1ATJ5 is surfacing on both variants on Galaxy S20 FE LTE(SM-G780F) and 5G (SM-G781B). Although, there isn’t anything related to the touchscreen improvements in the changelog of the update. But according to Sammobile, some users have reported that the Galaxy S20 FE touchscreen responsiveness has become more fluient with the update. It also adds some other optimizations.

Currently the update is rolling out in Europe while other markets will soon get it. If you’re living in Europe, you must have reiceved the update notification until now. If you did not get it yet, don’t panic and check it manually by going to the settings > software update> and after you get it then download and install it. However, we recommend you that before installing the update do charge your phone up to atleast 50%.

Recently, some of the Galaxy S20 FE units were having issues in touch responsiveness. So, the Korean giant responded to the issues by rolling out fixes via the update with firmware version G78xxXXU1ATJ1 a few days back. The primary highlight of the update is a fix for touchscreen responsiveness. It also brings the October 2020 Android security patch.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was launched on 23rd September, 2020. It comes powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 990 and Mali-G77 MP11 GPU. The phone pairs 6GB/8GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 128GB/256GB internal storage. If features a 6.50-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support.

In camera section, Galaxy S20 FE houses a triple camera at the back including 12MP wide angle primary camera with OIS, 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS support, and 12 MP ultrawide camera with auto HDR. Talking about the front camera, there’s a 32MP wide angle camera with HDR support.

The phone packs Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C 3.2, and under display fingerprint sensor. It has a 4500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging support. Galaxy S20 FE runs on Samsung’s One UI 2.5 based on Android 10 out of the box.
