Redmi K40 real image leaks – uses a “pin-point” center punch-hole

As Redmi is getting set to unveil the Redmi K40 series on February 25th, more information about this series is appearing online. The latest information is a leaked real image of this device which shows the front design. From the image, we can see that the bezel of this device is not entirely thin. However, it is not thick enough for any sensor. Furthermore, we can also see the “pin-point” center punch-hole for the front camera. According to reports, thisĀ smartphone will have the smallest punch-hole in the industry, it will be only 2.8mm.

Redmi K40

Last month,Ā Lu Weibing announced last month that the machine will use the Snapdragon 888 processor and its starting price will be 2999 yuan ($464). According to reports, this price will be for a high-end version and there will be three models. The latest speculation claims that the low model will cost less than 2,000 yuan ($310). The Redmi K40 series will have at least two models – perhaps Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro.

Previous leaks reveal that the top version will use a 108MP main camera. This will be Redmi’s first smartphone with a 108MP camera. Furthermore, recent information shows that the low version will use the Snapdragon 870 processor. Furthermore, this smartphone will come with a 4000 mAh battery but no information on the charging capacity. Ā This phone will also use LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory.

In addition, theĀ Redmi K40 series will be equipped with a Samsung E4 material OLED display and will support a 120Hz refresh rate. According to Xiaomi, this “may be the most expensive straight screen in the industry”. The recent leak shows that this device will come with a 6.81-inch display with a resolution ofĀ 3200 x 1440 (2K). There are reports that the Redmi K40 series may use the same panel as the Xiaomi Mi 11.

On the rear, it will continue to use the huge matrix quad-rear camera module similar to the Redmi K30S.Ā The four cameras are arranged in a diamond shape, and the flash is on the right side of the camera module.

Redmi K40 may not have a charger in the box

Recently, we saw the packaging box of the Redmi K40 and the image is from Lu Weibing. According to his Weibo post, there are two versions ā€“ one is thick and the other is thin. Looking at the images, the thick box probably has a charger in it while the thin box does not.

Lu Weibing said, ā€œThick or thin? This is a difficult choice. Ask everyone for your opinionā€¦We know that Xiaomi Mi 11 has launched two packaging versions, one is to send the charger (gallium nitride charger), the other is not, and the price of the two is the same,Ā so I guess Redmi K40 may also adopt this solution”.

It appears that Redmi is seeking the opinion of buyers. There is also the possibility that Redmi will adopt both versions for different markets. As of now, we can not absolutely tell if the Redmi K40 will not come with a charger.
