Top 10 “highly-rated” Android smartphones for June 2021 – Meizu dominates the list

Recently, AnTuTu announced the TOP 10 “highly-rated” Android smartphones for June 2021. Interestingly, Meizu’s smartphone performance is very striking. In the top 10 list, Meizu’s devices occupy three slots. However, Huawei and Samsung also have the same number of devices on the list. Even the old flagship, Meizu 17 Pro is on top of this list with a rating of 98.04%. In the March rating, Meizu 17 Pro was in the second position with Mate 50 claiming the top spot.

Here are the top 10 highly rated smartphones for June 2021

1. Meizu 17 Pro

For many months, Meizu 17 Pro has actually been stable in the top position. However, in February and March, the Huawei Mate 40 took over the top spot and it had to settle for second. However, this smartphone is back on the top spot of the highly-rated smartphones again.  The is smartphone has a 98.04% rating and could have easily been on top. Well, this device comes with an “old” 7nm Snapdragon 865 SoC thus it is not a 2021 flagship smartphone. It also comes with LPDDR5 RAM + UFS3.1 flash memory. Thankfully, this rating mostly considers the design, appearance, screen material, and other details.

In fact, Meizu 17 Pro is notable in terms of performance and features, with the subsequent OTA of 120Hz refresh rate, MEMC dynamic frame insertion compensation, GPU driver update strategy, etc. This smartphone also has the latest stable version of the Flyme 9 security.

2. Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

Second, on the list is the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G with a rating of 98.02%. This smartphone is just 0.02% shy of the Meizu 17 Pro in the top spot.  This device comes with an Exynos 990 (7 nm+) SoC or Snapdragon 865. It uses a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3200 pixel resolution. In addition, it has 12GB/16GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. On the rear, it has a quad-camera setup with a 108MP main sensor that supports 8K videos. 3. Huawei Mate 40

Huawei Mate 40 that used to be on the top spot is now in third with a rating of 96.54%. The Huawei Mate 40 uses a 6.5 inch OLED display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and resolution of 1080 x 2376 pixels (~402 PPI density). This smartphone also comes with the Kirin 9000E 5G (5 nm) and supports 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It uses a triple-rear camera setup. It has a 50MP main camera with 16MP (ultrawide), and 8MP (telephoto) sensors. To keep its lights on, this device uses a 4200 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. It also supports 40W wireless fast charging as well as 5W reverse wireless charging. Other features include 5G wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and EMUI 11.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is fourth on the list of highly-rated Android smartphones with a rating of 96.42%. This device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC. It uses a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3088 pixel resolution. In addition, it has 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of internal storage. On the rear, it has a triple camera setup with a 108MP main sensor. Furthermore, this device comes with a 4,500 mAh battery that supports a 25W fast charge.

5. Meizu 18 Pro

After the Meizu 17 Pro, the younger Meizu 18 Pro makes the list in the fifth position with a rating of 94.04%. For the first time, Meizu is the most favorable brand, more than Huawei. Since the Meizu 18 series 5G flagship phone was released in March 2021, the Flyme 9 security system and excellent design have become the biggest differentiators between it and other Chinese Android phones.

6. Huawei Mate 30 5G

The Huawei Mate 30 5G is a 2019 smartphone but it makes the list of highly-rated Android smartphones with a rating of 93.93%. This device comes with a 6.62 inch AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels (~389 PPI density). This smartphone also comes with the Kirin 990 (7 nm+) and supports 6GBc/ 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.0 storage. To keep its lights on, this device uses a 4200 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging as well as a 27W wireless fast charging.

7. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G

This smartphone is the third Samsung device on the list and it has a rating of 93.33%. This device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It uses a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3200 pixel resolution. In addition, it has 12GB/16GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. On the rear, it has a quad-camera setup with a 108MP main sensor that supports 8K videos. Furthermore, this device comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports a 25W fast charge, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

8. OnePlus 9

The OnePlus 9 is the only OnePlus device on this list of highly-rated Android smartphones. This device is a 2021 flagship and it comes with features that are befitting for a 2021 smartphone. First off, this smartphone comes with a 6.55-inch LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Under the hood, this device comes with a Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. On the rear, it has a triple-camera setup, that includes a 48MP wide-angle,  50 ultrawide, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The battery size is 4500 mAh and it supports 65W wired fast charging and 10W fast wireless charging. This device also supports IP68 dust/water resistance

9. Huawei P40 Pro+

In the ninth position is the Huawei P40 Pro+ with a rating of 93.19%. The Huawei P40 Pro+ comes with Kirin 990 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage. Furthermore, this device uses a 6.58-inch display that supports 1200 x 2640 pixel resolution as well as a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, there is a 4,200 mAh battery that supports a 40W fast charge, 40W wireless charging, and 27W reverse wireless charging. The battery department is one of the selling points of this smartphone. As of now, there are not many smartphones with 40W wireless charging capacity in the industry.

10. Meizu 18

The last smartphone on this list of highly-rated Android smartphones for June 2021 is the Meizu 18. This device has a rating of 92.59%. This smartphone comes with a 6.2 inch AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels (~563 PPI density). This smartphone also comes with the Snapdragon 888 and supports 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. To keep its lights on, this device uses a 4000 mAh battery that supports 36W fast charging.
