The Zenfone 8 series from Asus featuring the Asus Zenfone 8, Zenfone 8 Flip is slated to launch in India soon. This piece of information came from the company’s Business Head of Commercial PC and Smartphone Dinesh Sharma. However, details about the lineup’s exact launch date are still scarce. According to Sharma, it will be confirmed once Asus works out logistics.
Asus announced the Zenfone 8 series phones back in May. Last month, the company launched the Zenfone 8 in the US. The Asus Zenfone 8 and the Zenfone 8 Flip were set to hit the store shelves in Indian on May 12, when the devices were launched globally. Regrettably, the launch date of these devices had to be pushed back citing the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Zenfone 8, Zenfone 8 Flip Launch In India
According to a report from 91mobiles, Asus is gearing up to launch the Zenfone 8 series in India. Earlier this month, the brand even listed the two devices, Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip, on its official Asus India website. This confirms that the devices will arrive in the country soon. On July 20, the company even hinted at the timeline for the Zenfone 8 series India launch.

In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday, Sharma hinted at an impending launch of the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip in India. He revealed that the brand is currently working on the logistics of the upcoming phones. Although he remained mum about the exact launch date for the two phones, his comments suggest that the devices will be launched in India next month.
Sharma said that the company wants to ensure that there is ample supply to meet the high demand before the phones go up for sale. He pointed out that it is important to make sure a product is available in enough quantity before the sale kicks off. Smartphone manufacturing involves a build-up process. In other words, it is not plausible to make a significant volume of products available from the very first day. It takes some time once you start the process, Sharma explained.

Zenfone 8 has a 5.9-inch Super AMOLED display that boasts an FHD+ resolution with a high 120Hz refresh rate. In the optics department, it houses a 64MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera at the back. Aside from that, it sports a 12MP selfie camera.
Under the hood, the phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It runs Android 11 OS and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 30W charging support. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint, stereo speakers, and 5G connectivity.
Zenfone 8 Flip comes with a 6.67-inches Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor will be powering the phone. It has a 64MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, along with an 8MP telephoto unit at the back. It runs Android 11 OS.
You can flip the rear-mounted camera module towards the front to use it as a selfie camera. Furthermore, the Zenfone 8 Flip draws its juices from a robust 5,000mAh battery with 30W charging support. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and 5G connectivity.
