iQOO 8 will use a Samsung E5 LTPO screen with a 2K resolution

The official Weibo handle of iQOO released a trailer of the iQOO 8 announcing that this flagship will arrive soon. In the trailer, iQOO claims that the screen of the new flagship is “unforgettable and delicate”. According to reports, the iQOO 8 series will come with a Samsung E5 LTPO display. This display has the capacity to dynamically adjust the screen refresh rate. In addition, this smartphone will support a 2K+ resolution and also supports a native 10bit display.

From the available leak and speculations, the iQOO 8 series will come with a punch-hole camera design. The maximum refresh rate of this device may exceed 120Hz. However, the refresh rate of the screen can automatically fluctuate between 1Hz and >120Hz depending on the useage. For instance, when reading text messages, the refresh rate can be as low as 1Hz. However, during gaming, the refresh rate may need to be at its highest, >120Hz. According to reports, the maximum refresh rate may be 144 Hz refresh, but past leaks have been suggesting something above. The device will have a curved display, so we can confirm that it’s an OLED panel. After all, it’s no easy to get these curves on LCD screens. Moreover, the iQOO 8 is a premium smartphone.

iQOO product manager @戈蓝V emphasized that this screen of iQOO 8 is not only the best in iQOO history but also the best mobile phone screen in 2021. In terms of specifications, the iQOO 8 series will debut with Qualcomm’s most powerful 5G chip, the Snapdragon 888 Plus. The CPU frequency of this chip has reached 3.0GHz and is expected to support 100W super fast charging.
