Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable phones have gone up for pre-booking in India ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event. The South Korean tech behemoth is gearing up for the much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event, which kicks off on August 11. The company has started making marketplaces ready for those waiting with bated breath to get their hands on the upcoming foldable.
Both upcoming foldable devices have been subject to a lot of speculations and leaks. Earlier this week, key specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 surfaced on the web, giving us a brief of the device’s characteristics. Similarly, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has made multiple appearances online in the form of leaked renders. Back in July, 91mobiles divulged details about the foldables’ pricing in India in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar.
Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 Pre-Bookings In India
Samsung fans have restlessly been waiting to get their hands on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable phones in India. Much to their delight, they can now reserve their pre-booking on the Samsung Shop App. Customers in India will need to shell out INR 2,000 (about $28) for a VIP Pass. This VIP Pass helps you bring the original asking price of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 down.
Aside from that, you get a free Galaxy Smart Tag, which would normally set you back INR 2,699 (about $36). It is worth mentioning here that customers would still need to purchase the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to get the object tracker for free. On top of that, the popular handset maker will be doling out a 100 percent refund if you cancel your pre-booking. It is still unclear whether an INR 2,000 (about $27) will persuade Indian consumers to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This price goes up to INR 4,699 (about $63) if we include the price of the Galaxy Smart Tag.
New Samsung Foldable Phones Are Steeply-Priced
According to a SamMobile source, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could set you back a pretty penny. It carries a price tag of about INR 1,35,000 (about $1,820). On the downside, the aforesaid price doesn’t include the S Pen Pro stylus. In other words, INR 4,699 ($63) is just a drop in the bucket. Furthermore, the discount barely makes a difference in the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Flip 3 is a more affordable foldable phone. However, it could still retail for a whopping INR 90,000 (about $1,212).
It is no secret that the Indian market is price-sensitive. However, the original Galaxy Z Fold sold well in the country. It will be interesting to see if the Galaxy Z Flip follows in the footsteps of its predecessor. In the US, the company will be offering 12 months of free Samsung Care+ to those who preorder the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Aside from that, American customers will be eligible for receiving a myriad of other goodies.
