Redmi 10 Prime will be launched in India soon

Redmi 10

One week after a goofy unintentional release, Xiaomi officially launched the Redmi 10 globally. The new smartphone is a solid upgrade bringing a more capable MediaTek Dimensity G88 SoC, a Quad-Camera setup led by a 50 MP snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging. The device also is the first non-Note Redmi to come with a high refresh rate display. After the launch of this device across global markets, it seems that Xiaomi is preparing its release in the Indian market. However, for the Asian country, the device may get a rebranding to Redmi 10 Prime.

Unfortunately, the company does not reveal the exact launch date of the handset in the country. However, some of Xiaomi’s senior executives have tweeted various prime numbers. Back in the last year, the Redmi 9 was announced as Redmi 9 Prime in the country. So, it’s not a mere coincidence to see the company teasing numbers that are under the “Prime” category. For now, we don’t know if whether the device will reach India this month as a “last-minute” launch or Xiaomi, will leave its release for September.

Since the device will be basically a rebranded Redmi 10 we know pretty much everything we can expect from it.

Redmi 10 Prime specifications

The Redmi 10 Prime will come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. This means that the display can dynamically switch between 45, 60, and 90 Hz refresh rates. Everything depends on the content which has been shown in the screen. The display has a centered punch-hole comprising the selfie snapper.

Under the hood, the smartphone packs a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. There are variants with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Storage and 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB of Storage. For now, it’s unclear if Xiaomi is bringing all these variants to the Indian market.

In terms of optics, the device boasts a Quad-Camera setup. It comprises a 50 MP primary camera sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide camera. There are also two 2 MP modules for depth and macro. For selfies and video calls, the device has an 8 MP front camera. In addition to the hardware, users can expect the whole plethora of MIUI Camera features to come with the handset.

The Redmi 10 Prime draws powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging and 9W reverse charging. The device packs a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card slot, IR Blaster, and USB Type-C port. It’s a 4G VoLTE smartphone with dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Moreover, it packs a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and dual stereo speakers. It weighs around 181 grams and is 8.9 mm thick.

For now, we don’t many clues regarding the pricing point that will be adopted in India.
