Vivo Watch 2 with eSIM support is coming soon

Vivo Watch

Vivo has just unveiled its very first smartwatch back in 2020. The last year was marked by a great surge in the popularity of wearables such as smartwatches and true wireless earphones. It’s not a surprise to see the largest smartphone makers and tech companies in China wanting to grab a slice of the segment. According to recent reports, the Vivo Watch is about to receive a new sequel – Vivo Watch 2. It will come with a feature that was not present in the original wearable eSIM support.

The eSIM capability is an interesting feature for smartwatches. After all, they expand the possibilities of the wearable. Some users will be okay with a smartwatch serving to tell the time, track health features and track sports activities. However, some users want the smartwatch to expand or extend the experience of the smartphone. For example, with eSIM you can easily leave the smartphone behind and receive calls, send texts, and more. Vivo is aware of the demand for products with this feature and is getting ready to unleash a smartwatch with it.

Gizchina News of the week

Vivo Watch 2 will come with eSIM support

According to the Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Vivo Smartwatch should carry the Vivo Watch 2 moniker. This certainly isn’t a big surprise. The big surprise in the package will be the availability of eSIM functionality. This will allow users to be able to make and receive calls without a smartphone. In the same way, they will be able to send and receive messages straight from the smartwatch without being tethered to a smartphone.

In addition to the eSIM feature, the source also indicates support for more applications. Vivo wants to offer an experience similar to the recently released Xiaomi Watch Color 2. Since other companies that are established in the segment are improving their games, the Chinese firm will provide a solid experience to catch them. The new Vivo Watch 2 will likely come with a round dial. However, it’s too soon to set the things into the stone. The wearable may also come in various sizes just like the last year’s model.

To recall, the original Vivo Watch comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes. The device has a 1.19-inch and 1.39-inch AMOLED display. The smartwatch can track up to 11 sports modes, supports heart rate and blood oxygen level measurement. It also has a built-in assistant, NFC, GPS, built-in storage, and a waterproof rating. The 42mm version has a 9-day battery life while the 46mm version pushes the battery life up to 18 days. If the new Watch 2 is coming in two sizes, then we can also expect some specs distinction between them.
