It’s difficult to believe that one brand can become an influencer in myriad niches. Well, in a couple of interrelated fields, it’s quite possible to be a leader. But how can a firm focusing on smartphones also have no equals in the fields such as TVs, power banks, smartbands, rice cookers, water kettles, etc.? As you guess, we are talking about Xiaomi. After announcing that the cumulative sales of the rice cooker series on all platforms exceeded 10 million units, the manufacturer officially announced the latest report for its much-popular Xiaomi Water Kettle series.
Today, the company said that as of September 30, 2021, the sales of the Xiaomi Water Kettle series exceeded 15 million units.
The Xiaomi Water Kettle products that are currently on sale include the Mijia Kettle 1A, Mijia Kettle 1S, Mijia Kettle 2, Mijia Thermostatic Electric Kettle, Mijia Thermostatic Electric Kettle Pro, etc. Also, the prices range from 79 yuan ($12) to 249 yuan ($39).
Xiaomi Water Kettle 2
In September of this year, Xiaomi’s new generation of electric kettles, the Xiaomi Kettle 2 was officially released, priced at 99 yuan ($15). Though we can’t find many improvements, the capacity reached 1.7L in comparison to the previous generation’s 1.5L. But we should also point out that the price remains the same.
The Xiaomi Water Kettle 2 has a built-in 1800W high-power energy-gathering heating chassis. The latter can shorten the boiling time by 2 minutes compared with the 1500W kettles. The thickened aluminum plate heating chassis is used to make the heat load more uniform. Also, it will make the water fully boil.
The product adopts a double-layer structure inside and outside to form a middle insulation layer. It ought to prevent accidental burns.
The inner tank uses food contact grade 304 stainless steel. It has a one-piece structure that is resistant to corrosion and oxidation and is more convenient to clean.
As for safety, the Xiaomi Water Kettle 2 uses the British brand STRIX thermostat. It allows the power supply to accurately trip and stop heating when the water reaches the boiling point. The kettle also has quad-fold power protection, including automatic power off when there is no water. Also, it has high-temperature fuse protection and an anti-shock design.
Xiaomi IoT Products
It is worth mentioning that, not long ago, Xiaomi Group announced its second-quarter 2021 results, with total revenue reaching 87.8 billion yuan ($13.64 billion), a year-on-year increase of 64.0%; adjusted net profit was 6.3 billion yuan ($0.98 billion), a year-on-year increase of 87.4%. Both total revenue and adjusted net profit hit a record high in a single quarter, far exceeding market expectations.
The financial report shows that Xiaomi’s IoT and consumer products business revenue in the second quarter was 20.7 billion yuan ($3.22 billion), a year-on-year increase of 35.9%.
