Realme 9 Pro Plus smartphone has been spotted on the IMEI database, hinting at the smartphone’s imminent launch. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is gearing up to unveil its much-awaited Realme 9 series smartphones in 2022. Now, these impending smartphones have started making appearances on data certification websites. During the recently concluded Realme 8s and 8i launch event, Realme announced that the upcoming mid-ranger will go official next year.

Moreover, the company said the Realme 9 series smartphones will pack a “fantastic mainstream processor” under the hood. Regrettably, Realme did not divulge details about the processor. The word on the street is that Realme pushed the launch date of the Realme 9 series citing the current chip and global semi-conductor shortage. A myriad of other handset makers has been affected by the shortage. As a result, Realme ended up launching some products with the same chipset.

Realme 9 Pro Plus Appears On IMEI Database

On October 23, renowned leaker Mukul Sharma tweeted a screenshot of what he claims is the Realme 9 Pro Plus smartphone’s IMEI database listing. The upcoming handset carries model number RMX3393. According to a report from 91mobiles, the aforesaid device could boast higher-end specifications than the other Realme 9 series smartphones. In other words, it will be offering better specifications compared to the Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 smartphones.

Regrettably, details about the Realme 9 Pro Plus hardware, price, and availability are still scarce. However, the phone seems to exist. Last month, Realme confirmed that its upcoming numbered series, Relame 9 series, will hit the store shelves sometime next year. The Realme 9 series smartphones are highly likely to launch in the first quarter of 2022. Furthermore, the upcoming series will reportedly offer better specifications than the Realme 8 series.

Despite the lack of an official confirmation, previously surfaced leaks suggest that the Realme 9 Pro or the Realme 9 Pro Plus could pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset under the hood. Furthermore, earlier reports claim that the phone will sport an AMOLED display that offers a high refresh rate. To recall, the Realme 8 Pro houses a 108MP main camera. It is still unclear whether the Realme 9 Pro or the Realme 9 Pro Plus could come with the same camera setup.

Moreover, the vanilla Realme 9 is likely to offer a myriad of upgraded specifications. As part of these upgrades, the Realme 9 is likely to get a more powerful processor than the Mediatek Helio G90 and the Mediatek Helio G95 chipsets. Realme has been using the aforesaid Mediatek processors on its smartphones for more than one and half years. Also, the model could carry a 5G moniker, just like the Realme 8 5G.

While Realme is still mum on its upcoming smartphone pricing details, a 91mobiles report suggests that the base variant of the Realme 9 could retail for less than INR 15,000 (about $200). The Realme 9 Pro, on the other hand, is likely to carry a price tag of less than INR 20,000 (about $267) for the base variant. Now, with the Realme 9 Pro Plus slated to go official alongside the other Realme 9 series smartphones, it will be interesting to see in which price bracket the company puts its numbered category smartphone.
