Realme To Launch A New Flagship Phone Early Next Year

If rumors making the rounds online are anything to go by, Realme is hard at work on a new flagship model that could launch next year. The Chinese smartphone brand could be trying to tighten its grip on the premium smartphone segments by unveiling a flagship handset. Realme recently took the wraps off two new smartphones in China. These include the GT Neo2T and the Realme Q3s smartphones. There are still some days left in 2021, but it seems that Realme is already planning to launch a new premium phone next year.

At the China Mobile Global Partners Conference, Realme Vice President Xu Qi declared that the company is gearing up to make its foray into the high-end smartphone space. Aside from that, Xu Qi divulged pricing details of the upcoming smartphone. According to the executive, Realme’s new smartphone will carry a price tag of about CNY 5,000, which converts roughly to be about $781 or INR 58,200. Furthermore, he revealed that the upcoming devices will target the market’s upper premium segments in the company’s home country of China.

Furthermore, Xu Qi said the aforesaid devices will boast an impressive array of features and top-notch specifications, according to a report from ITHome. Aside from indicating that the upcoming high-end premium smartphones will launch in early 2022, the executive refrained from sharing any finer details. Realme will be following in the footsteps of some equally popular brands like Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi that have already entered the premium smartphone segments.

Realme GT Neo2T & Realme Q3s

The BBK Electronics subsidiary has a reputation for offering feature-laden devices that don’t cost a bomb. Living up to its notoriety, Realme recently introduced GT Neo2T and Realme Q3s smartphones carrying reasonable price tags. The GT Neo2T retails for CNY 2,399 (about INR 28,100) for the highest-end 12GB RAM+256GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM+256GB storage variant of the Realme Q3s smartphone, on the other hand, retails for CNY 1,999 (about 23,400).

The feature-laden GT Neo2T runs Android 11 OS with Realme UI 2.0 on top. Furthermore, it sports a 6.43-inch OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone packs a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. For optics, the GT Neo2T houses a 64MP main camera at the back. The phone draws its juices from a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.

Realme Q3s

The Realme Q3s smartphone features a 6.6-inch display that delivers a full-HD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) resolution. Moreover, it will deliver an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.8 percent. Aside from that, it offers a peak brightness of 600 nits. Aside from that, it will provide a variable refresh rate of 144Hz, and 96 percent NTSC coverage. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. On the photography front, the Q3s features three rear-mounted cameras including a 48MP main camera. Moreover, the phone draws its juices from a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
