Tecno is raising its efforts to conquer the market with the Tecno Pova 5G. The smartphone is one of the company’s few if not the only handset to bring 5G connectivity thanks to the excellent yet mid-range Dimensity 900 SoC. Today, however, the company is bringing something more focused in the extremely lower-end segment. It’s bringing the Tecno Spark Go 2022 to India. As the device’s mouthful name suggests, it’s an Android Go smartphone ready for the 2022 season. Interestingly, the Tecno Spark Go 2021 was introduced earlier this year, and now is getting a proper sequel.
Tecno Spark Go 2022 specifications and features
The Tecno Spark Go 2022 flaunts a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, it packs an unnamed chipset with a Quad-Core SoC. We can bet in an old MediaTek chip or perhaps the Unisoc Tiger 310 SoC which is a Quad-Core chipset. Anyway, the processing power is paired with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal Storage. The RAM amount does not impress but is still better than what we’ve used to see in this segment like just 1 GB. Moreover, the 32 GB of Internal Storage will be acceptable at the pricing point and with the right applications.
The device comes with a dual rear camera setup, but we assume that the second camera is just here for the sake of marketing. Well, it’s an unspecified AI lens, and the one really making something is a 13 MP snapper. For selfie and video calls, we have a respectable 8 MP snapper.

In terms of connectivity, the device comes with dual SIM Card slots, 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS. The handset has a micro SD card slot so you can easily store your files without sacrificing internal storage. Furthermore, it offers a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you can even use this smartphone as a secondary device for listening to music while on the go. Unfortunately, it charges via the archaic micro USB port.
Despite its lower-end nature, the device comes with a fingerprint scanner. That’s truly remarkable as many brands have launched devices without the fingerprint scanner this year. The handset runs the Android 11 Go edition and draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery.
The Tecno Spark Go 2022 arrives in a single option and is priced in India at INR 7,499 ($100). The device is already up for sale on Amazon India in a sole Turquoise Cyan colorway.
