Samsung Flex Displays CES 2022

Samsung Flex displays featuring the Samsung Flex S, Flex G, Flex Note, and the Flex Slidable have been unveiled at CES 2022. The South Korean tech behemoth has a reputation for testing different displays. So, it is hardly surprising that Samsung’s display division has showcased multiple foldable versions in the form of prototypes and concepts. Living up to its name, Samsung showed off four types of foldable technologies at CES 2022.

Among other new Flex displays, Samsung showed off the Flex S. The Flex S is a tri-folding display that provides more screen estate when it is unfolded. Aside from that, the South Korean tech company took the wraps off a slidable display concept dubbed the Flex Slidable at the recently kicked-off trade show. Huawei, Oppo, Motorola, and other leading brands have also tried their hand at foldable devices in the past. However, Samsung surpasses other tech companies in terms of foldable tech.

Samsung Flex Displays Debuts At CES 2022

During the ongoing CES 2022, Samsung announced four types of displays. For instance, the company unveiled a -folding display called the Flex S. It appears to be an upgraded version of the existing bi-folding panels. According to a report by Money Control. this folding display is called the Flex S because it makes an “S” shape when folded in or out. This unique shape provides a separate display for precise tasks.

Meanwhile, the Flex G is a multi-foldable device. When folded inwards two times, it forms a “G” shape. Both sides of the device can be folded inwards and the remaining central part of the product. According to Samsung, the G-shaped screen offers more durability because the screen is protected against accidental scratches and external impact.

Samsung Flex Slidable & Flex Note

The Flex Slidable bears a striking resemblance to the Find X 2021 concept by Oppo. However, it adopts a different mechanism. Moreover, Samsung states that the Slidable display extends simply by a press of a button. The Flex Slidable can come in handy in multiple scenarios. For instance, it can work as a sidecar to access applications. Similarly, the Flex Note is Samsung’s version of foldable displays for notebooks and laptops.

In fact, it is simply a bigger version of the vertically folding display mechanism used on the Galaxy Fold. The screen’s bottom half serves as an on-screen keyboard. Alternatively, it can be useful in multiple use cases, based on the current task. However, this intriguing technology isn’t likely to materialize anytime soon.
