Oppo Pad Air with Snapdragon 680 had its specs detailed

Oppo Pad Air

It took several years, but apparently, the segment of Android tablets is finally returning. After years without much relevance due to the lackluster software experience, the companies saw a big demand for large-sized devices after the pandemic. Even Google “noticed” how tablets are important and decided to improve Android on these devices. Xiaomi returned with its Pad series, and the BBK Electronics group decided to push its brands into the tablet segment. After the Realme Pad, we saw Oppo and Vivo following with their respective “Pads”. Now, after realizing a “flagship oriented” Oppo Pad, the Chinese brand is preparing the terrain for a mid-range contender. The new device will be launched later this month and will carry the Oppo Pad Air moniker.

Apparently, Oppo will not make much buzz for this tablet release. The brand has put the slate on pre-orders through its Chinese handles. Interestingly, the company’s listing reveals that the new tablet will carry support for the Oppo Pencil. That’s not a big surprise, after all, the Oppo Pencil is quite “basic” compared to the Samsung’s S-Pen for example. The images in the listing also revealed it will bring support for a keyboard folio case. Perhaps, the company will launch a new folio keyboard case to accompany this mid-range tablet. It may come with a more affordable price tag than the one that accompanies the Oppo Pad with Snapdragon 870 SoC.

Oppo Pad Air specifications

The Oppo Pad Air will carry a 10.36-inch LCD screen with 2,000 x 1,200 pixels and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the tablet will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC that comes with Adreno 610 GPU. This processor isn’t the most powerful the current date. In fact, it seems to be a Snapdragon 662 / 665 made on a modern 6 nm architecture. It’s more for power efficiency than for brute force. That said, you’ll be able to run every day, study, and work-related apps without much hassle. However, it may not be the best one for gaming.

The device will come with a large 7,100 mAh battery with 18 W fast-charging. There will also be a Quad-Stereo Speaker with Dolby Atmos Audio. The tablet will also come with a single rear camera and a selfie snapper. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine the resolution of the cameras right now. Anyway, we’re not expecting more than a 13 MP main camera, and an 8 MP selfie snapper. In terms of software, the tablet will likely run Android 12 OS with ColorOS 12 running on the top.

The Oppo Pad Air will likely get a global release in the next few months.
