Garmin Forerunner watches gets a controversial new feature

This is the first time that Garmin will attempt to use AMOLED displays on its devices. For this reason, these smartwatches come with a brighter display of most of the features. Although these screens don’t always have a good image with users who prefer readability in direct sunshine. Also, there is the question of battery life as the AMOLED screen consumes more power. Because of this, it might be challenging to offer these newest versions to current Garmin Forerunner 955 and 255 owners.

This is particularly true given that, aside from the screen, the new Forerunners are virtually identical to their forebears in terms of tech and function — the most recent version uses the same chipset and satellite connectivity.

Forerunner 265 and 265S

The Forerunner 265 is an improved version of last year’s edition and is a lightweight, midrange GPS-connected wristwatch. Garmin’s choice to use AMOLED screens for its most recent running smartwatches, while contentious, places them on a level with many of the top Android smartwatches, including Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 series.
