Realme C53 launched with 5000mAh battery and Dynamic Island

Realme has yet another mid-range smartphone for global markets. While the company’s fanbase waits for the next big thing in the form of the Realme 11 series, the brand is here with a new Realme C-series phone. Today, as expected, the company presents the Realme C53. It’s a new affordable device for the entry-level segment. It hits Malaysia through Lazada with an MYR 550 price tag and 6GB of RAM plus 128 GB of Internal Storage. We believe that it’s just a matter of time until the brand opens it to other markets, although it is already available in India as Realme Narzo N53.

The Realme C53 basically costs $120 in direct conversion which is a rare price nowadays. Of Course, we won’t get stellar performance, but the device offers a decent value for money. It even brings some fancy features that you will not find on more expensive devices like Realme’s take on the “Dyanamic Island” feature of the iPhone 14 Pros. Without further delay, let’s see what these devices have in tow for the market.

Gizchina News of the week

The Realme C53 packs a 6.74-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate. It’s an LCD display, I know, but it’s good to see that it is not stuck on a 60 Hz refresh rate. The phone has 2,400 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. The phone has a teardrop notch comprising an 8 MP camera. Interestingly, Realme UI does its fancy software trick to simulate Dynamic Island-like notifications. Thankfully, you won’t have the “virtual” notch occupying the top of your screen all the time. The phone brings a basic 50 MP camera module on its back and a secondary depth sensor.

Under the hood, we have the Unisoc T612. The chipset is common to low-end phones and brings 2 x ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at the same 1.8 GHz. It’s okay for basic app usage, social media, and media content. However, don’t expect it to be more than average on games. However, gaming isn’t this phone’s target. The phone has 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of Internal Storage. It also brings a micro SD card slot for further storage expansion.

The Realme C53 draws power from a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging. The handset runs on Android 13 with a lightweight version of Realme UI.

The Realme C53 is up on Lazada for MYR 550 as well as Shopee for MYR 600. The phone is available in Champion Gold and Might Black. We expect it to reach other markets in Asia soon.
