Amazfit Pop 3S goes official with AMOLED display

Amazfit

Amazfit is one of the most trending names when we look at smartwatches. Unlike watches from smartphone-centric brands, the Amazfit watches come from a company that is mostly focused on wearables. From premium options to those targeting affordability and a young audience, Amazfit gets you covered. Today, the brand is bringing a new watch dubbed Amazfit Pop 3S to one of the most competitive markets out there – India.

Amazfit Pop 3S features and specifications

The Amazfit Pop 3S will try its luck in a crowded market but will bring some neat features like an Always-On AMOLED display. The wearable comes with a rectangular dial comprising a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with Always-On Display (AOD) feature. That means that the screen will turn on whenever there is a new notification. It can also be always turned on showing the time at the expense of a very small portion of your battery. The resolution of this display is 410 x 502 pixels and the company provides you with over 100 watch faces to choose from. The mid-frame features zinc alloy while the buttons are made of stainless steel.

The Amazfit Pop 3S also comes with 24/7 heart-rate monitoring for bloody oxygen, stress, and sleep tracking. The wearable also comes with support for 100 sports modes, allowing you to track the most varied activities. The wearable comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The device supports Bluetooth Calls via the Bluetooth LE 5.2 technology. There is also a 300 mAh battery which offers 12 days of typical usage.

One of the downsides of this watch is the lack of GPS and NFC. If you need geolocalization or make cardless payments you will still need to carry your smartphone along. We assume that is a price to be paid to keep this watch in an affordable range.

Pricing and Availability

The Amazfit Pop 3S is up for sale for INR 3,499 ($42) in the option with a silicone strap. The metal strap unit costs about INR 3,999 ($48). The open sales will begin today from the Amazfit official website and Amazon.
