Display

The K60 Ultra comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLE display that can offer a typical brightness of 1200 nits. Its peak brightness is 2600 nits, which is higher than the high-end flagship devices such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Display

Thanks to that, you can have a highly immersive, detail-filled, vibrant, and immersive viewing experience with the phone. And let’s not forget to mention that it boasts a 144Hz refresh rate, offering you a smooth gaming experience.

SoC of Redmi K60 Ultra

Xiaomi could keep the Redmi K60 Ultra price low by not choosing a Snapdragon chipset. As I’ve covered earlier, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is pricier than its alternatives. And Qualcomm is following the same trend for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. But that doesn’t mean that the phone can’t offer flagship-grade performance.

Gaming performance of K60 Ultra

The Dimensity 9200+ chipset of the K60 Ultra offers all the power you need to run your favorite games and apps. This plus version of the chipset is slightly faster than the regular 9200 SoC. It features a clock speed of 3.35GHz, allowing the K60 Ultra to tackle all the demanding tasks. You can check out the performance benchmark here.

On that note, Xiaomi has integrated Pixelworks X7 MEMC chips inside the Redmi K60 Ultra. These chips will boost the performance of the phone and offer you more frames on AAA mobile games.

Storage and RAM

Xiaomi has geared up the Dimensity 9200+ with different RAM memory variants. The base version of the K60 Ultra starts at 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. This configuration is more than enough for hardcore gamers and those who want to store a lot of large files on their phone.

Camera Configuration of K60 Ultra

The camera configuration of the Redmi K60 Ultra is flagship-grade too. It comes with a 50MP primary sensor. This IMX800 sensor has support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), letting you click blur-free and properly-focused pictures.

Alongside the 50MP sensor, the phone has 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP unit. And on the front, you will find a 20MP selfie camera that can take hi-res selfies. Also, there are many different camera modes available, allowing you to get the most out of the pictures.

Battery and Charging Speed

The Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra features a large battery. It is 5000mAH in size, which will let you play games and watch content for hours with the battery fully charged. And when it comes to charging, the device has 120-watt fast charging. So, the phone can get 0% to 100% incredibly fast.

However, there’s no wireless charging, which is quite expected as Xiaomi needed to cut some corners to keep the price low.

Pricing and Availability of the Redmi K60 Ultra

As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi has slapped a very competitive price tag on the Redmi K60 Ultra. The base version, which comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is going for RMB 2599, which is around $358 US. And the fully packed version with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is priced at RMB 3599, around $498.

In comparison, the Redmi K60 Pro starts at $479 US, which comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. But, of course, you can argue that the K60 Pro features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while the K60 Ultra has a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. However, when it comes to performance, both are pretty much the same.

So, with the Redmi K60 Ultra, you are getting more storage and RAM, which basically enhances the value of the phone. And let’s not forget to point out that the starting price of the K60 Ultra has more than $100 US difference. And that’s a lot for those who are on a tight budget.

That said, the phone is currently limited to China, and Xiaomi has already started taking pre-orders for the device in that region. And there’s a very low chance of it debuting in the Global market. However, Xiaomi plans to rebrand the phone as the 13T Pro, which will be available in more markets. Hopefully, the pricing stays the same for that rebranded device, which will make it a proper flagship killer of 2023.
