Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ Arrive in Exynos 2400/Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Versions

After months of leaks and teasers, Samsung is finally here with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. During the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its new flagship smartphones for 2024. The company started with the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models that start the lineup and stand behind the Galaxy S24 Ultra. In this article, we will cover all the novelties introduced by the vanilla and smartphones. The new flagships get the spotlight with large Dynamic AMOLED displays, 1-120Hz Adaptive refresh right, and up to 2600 nits of brightness. They will also sell in Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 versions depending on the market. Without further ado, let’s dive into all the details.


The Samsung Galaxy S24 is the smallest with a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with a 2,340 x 1,080 pixels (FHD+) resolution. The S24 Plus, on the other hand, packs a larger 6.7-inch panel with 3,120 x 1,440 pixels of resolution and a Quad HD+ resolution. Both smartphones come with a 1-120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate that will adjust automatically depending on what is being shown. The panel has up to 2,600 nits of brightness and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 Protection.

Lastly, the phones come with an in-display UltraSonic Fingerprint Scanner for fast biometric authentication.

For the first time, the Galaxy S24 series components are made with recycled cobalt and rare earth elements. They are also the first in the series to feature recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Additionally, every Samsung Galaxy S24 comes in a packaging box made from 100% recycled paper material.


The Galaxy S24 series marks the return of the Exynos chipsets. As usual, Samsung will split the lineup by offering variants with the Exynos 2400 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 depending on the market. The company has yet to disclose exactly the availability details. In any case, both chipsets will offer great performance for gaming and applications. Samsung also equipped both units with a bigger vapor chamber for heat dissipation, reducing thermal throttling and keeping temperatures in check.


The Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus feature a similar camera setup. They feature a 50 MP Primary Camera with OIS, a 12 MP Ultra Wide Lens with a 120-degree field of view, and a 10 MP Telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. They also come with a 12 MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls.

For video recording, both front and rear cameras are equipped with a Dedicated ISP Block for noise reduction. The Samsung Galaxy S24 analyzes gyro information to distinguish between the firmer’s movement and the subject. This results in more effective noise reduction and clear videos even in dark places and environments.

Software – New Focus on AI and Seven Android Updates

Samsung embraces the era of AI with its new One UI 6.1 software and also sets a new standard by offering up to seven generations of OS updates. That’s the first time we see an Android smartphone getting such a level of support. That means that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series that comes with Android 14 will get updates until Android 21. The devices will also get seven years of security updates for the first time.

Going for the AI features, The S24 series gets Galaxy AI which brings a wide array of features. We have Live Translate, Real-Time Voice, and Text Translations of Phone Calls within the Native App. They also come with an Interpreter feature, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and gesture-driven Circle to Search.



Both smartphones come with IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance. The Samsung Galaxy S24 has a 4,000 mAh battery with 24W fast charging. The Samsung Galaxy S24+ offers a 4,900 mAh battery with support for 45w fast charging. Both phones come with wireless and reverse wireless charging.


The duo of flagships comes with 5G SA/NSA and 4G VoLTE. They support Bluetooth 5.3, GPS + GLONASS, and have a USB Type-C 3.1 port and NFC for contactless payments.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24+ will sell in Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow colors. Some markets will also get Jade Green, Sandstone Orange, and Sapphire Blue online exclusive colors depending on the country. The pricing for each variant is listed below:

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 – 8GB/128GB – $799,99 / €899
  • Samsung Galaxy S24 – 8GB/256GB – $859,99 / €959
  • Samsung Galaxy S24+ – 12GB/256GB – $999,99 / €1,169
  • Samsung Galaxy S24+ – 12GB + 512GB – $1,119,99 / €1,289

The two smartphones will be available for pre-order from today, January 17th. The shipments will begin for many countries by January 31st.
