One UI 6.1 Galaxy

Samsung unrolled the Galaxy S24 series on January 17th. With this launch, the company has also introduced One UI 6.1, which brings a bunch of new features. Among them is Bluetooth Auracast, which is a new wireless connectivity feature for wireless headphones and smartphones.

For those who missed our in-depth discussion on Bluetooth Auracast, it is a broadcast technology. With it, you can transmit audio from different devices, such as phones, to multiple to an unlimited number of receivers. That is, you will only need one audio source to share audio with multiple headphones or wireless earbuds. And One UI 6.1 has the feature.

More About Bluetooth Auracast on One UI 6.1

For Bluetooth Auracast to work, the transmitter needs to have support for it. As for the receivers, they need to be on Bluetooth 5.2 or higher. Regarding Samsung’s lineup, the Galaxy S24 devices have the support to become Auracast transmitters with the One UI 6.1.

When it comes to Samsung’s wireless earbuds, it’s only the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro that has the support. If you have these two, you can start a Bluetooth Auracast broadcast by getting into the Bluetooth settings menu of One UI 6.1. Of course, it’s not just the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro that will work when you enable broadcast on a Galaxy S24 phone. Other wireless earbuds or headphones with support can also join.

Nonetheless, enabling Auracast broadcast with a Samsung phone running One UI 6.1 makes it act like a transmitter. After that, multiple earbuds and headphones with Auracast support can receive the transmitted audio. You have the option to restrict receivers. The feature allows you to set a four-digit password to prevent unwanted people from joining your broadcast channel.

As of now, only the Galaxy S24 series has the feature from the Samsung lineup. There’s no word on whether the feature will be available to other Samsung devices that will receive One UI 6.1. But devices with Bluetooth LE support should get it.
