iQOO is gearing up to introduce a new mid-range smartphone dubbed iQOO Z9 5G (I2302). The new smartphone will carry the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset and appeared on the Geekbench benchmark today. The benchmark website confirms some of the smartphone’s key details. Interestingly, the listing also comes to put an end to the rumors about this phone being equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The iQOO Z9 5G carries the codename I2302. It passed by Geekbench with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, this processor comes with 2 x ARM Cortex-A715 cores clocked at up to 2.8 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A510 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The listing also confirms at least one variant with 8 GB Of RAM. Last but not least, the benchmark confirms the phone with Android 14 straight out of the box.

According to previously available details, the iQOO Z9 5G will feature an OLED screen with 1.5K resolution. That’s the fancy marketing name for displays with 1220p resolution. The phone will also sport a 6,000 mAh battery which means extreme endurance. The device is tipped to launch in India as it got BIS certification a few days ago. The listing also confirmed the phone with Bluetooth 5.3.

For now, there are not many details for the smartphone available. We expect iQOO to share more teasers and details pretty soon. Considering the phone is already being tested in Geekbench, and passing by certifications, its launch might be imminent. The phone will serve as a direct successor for the iQOO Z8 5G which had an LCD screen and the Dimensity 8200. The phone had a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast-charging. We are curious to see if the Z9 will bring this upgrade in battery coupled with this excellent charging speed.
