POCO M6 Launched: Premium Build Quality at Affordable Price


POCO has launched a new smartphone today, the POCO M6. For those unaware, the M-series in the POCO lineup serves the budget market. The POCO M6 following the same ideology has been listed on the POCO’s official website giving us complete information regarding its specifications and highlights. Let’s check out all the known stuff below.

Design: A Big Highlight For POCO M6

In the budget market, the majority of the phones have plastic build quality. This is done to save costs but the hand-feel is not impressive and does not seem premium. However, the highlight of POCO M6 is that it has a glass rear panel. Hence, users can expect a premium feel from this phone. Moreover, the design does not look cheap at all. It resembles the higher-end Redmi Note 13 Pro series. The phone has a thickness of 8.3mm and weighs 205 grams. Lastly, the phone is available in three colors: Black, Silver and Purple.

Specifications & Features

The POCO M6 comes with a 6.79-inch IPS LCD panel. It offers a FHD+ resolution and 550 nits of brightness. Moreover, it also provides DC dimming, which is a good add-on for a phone in this price range. For a smooth experience, POCO has also added a 90Hz refresh rate.

In the camera department, the POCO M6 features a dual rear camera setup led by a 108MP primary and 2MP macro sensor. The rear camera features multiple modes including HDR mode, Night mode, Portrait mode, etc. For selfies, a 13-megapixel camera is present on the front.

The POCO M6 brings the Helio G91 Ultra chipset to the performance. Hence, a decent performance can be expected however do note this chip does not support 5G, so the phone is limited to 4G connections only. In the battery segment, the M6 rocks a big  5,030mAh battery with 33W fast charging. POCO M6 comes out of the box with HyperOS based on Android 14 OS. Other features include a side-facing fingerprint sensor for additional security and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone comes in two configurations. The 6/128GB is priced at $129 and the 8/256GB variant comes at $149. The phone is identical to the Redmi 13, which was launched earlier. Hence for some regions, we can expect POCO M6 to be launched instead of Redmi 13. That said, the main highlight of the phone is its glass back at this price range. Other than that, it offers decent hardware which is in contrast with other phones at a similar price.
