POCO X8 Pro Leaks Hint at 1.5K Display, Dimensity 8500, and Massive Battery

Xiaomi’s next mid-range disruptor — likely to launch globally as the POCO X8 Pro and in China as the Redmi Turbo 5 — is starting to take shape. And if early leaks prove accurate, it may be one of the most capable phones in its class.

POCO X8 Pro

Display and Performance

According to well-known tipster @Digital Chat Station, the device will feature a 6.6-inch 1.5K LTPS LCD panel, offering sharper visuals than standard FHD+ displays — a small but welcome bump for media lovers. Rounded corners and a metal middle frame also point to a slightly more premium build than what we typically see in this segment.

POCO X8 Pro

Under the hood, the phone will run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500, a newer 4nm chip designed to offer flagship-like efficiency and thermals, but without the price tag. It is going to outperform the Dimensity 8200 while staying cooler under sustained loads — a solid choice for gamers and multitaskers on a budget.

Battery Might Be a Game-Changer

Arguably the most eye-catching leak? The battery. The POCO X8 Pro is rumored to feature a high-silicon cell with a capacity possibly exceeding 7000mAh. That’s massive — even by mid-range standards — and, when combined with the energy-efficient display and chip, could push battery life far beyond the typical day-and-a-half mark.

Fast charging is supposedly back with this model, though exact wattage details remain unclear. Given the Turbo 4 offered 90W charging, the same or better would make sense.

Design Language and Strategy

Xiaomi seems to be continuing its strategy of pushing premium features down-market. The Redmi Turbo 5/POCO X8 Pro appears to improve upon the Turbo 4’s formula — better display, stronger chip, larger battery — while maintaining a focus on durability and design. If the rumors are correct, the upcoming REDMI Turbo 5 looks set to strengthen Xiaomi’s position in the mid-range market, as most of its predecessors did after all. I believe that those users who value performance, longevity, and thoughtful design will appreciate it.
