Thin phones are making a quiet comeback. Not everywhere, and not with flagship specs, but still — there’s movement. Case in point: Infinixjust announced the Hot 60 Pro+, a sleek, budget-minded device that manages to be nearly as thin as Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, while offering a battery that’s actually larger. That’s the headline, anyway. But there’s a little more going on here.
A surprisingly thin phone with a not-so-budget design
On paper, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ is just 5.95mm thick. For comparison, the S25 Edge — which got plenty of buzz earlier this year for its 5.8mm slim profile — still weighs more at 163g. Infinix’s phone? Just 155g. That’s impressively light, especially considering the sizable 5,160mAh battery tucked inside. So it’s thinner than most mid-range phones, lighter than Samsung’s, and doesn’t cave in on battery life. That’s not a small deal, even if this isn’t a flagship-tier phone.
Screen, design, and specs — mostly good news
The front of the device houses a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display. It’s sharp (1.5K resolution), smooth (144Hz refresh rate), and bright — very bright. Infinix claims peak brightness hits 4,500 nits, which, if true, puts it up there with premium screens in broad daylight. It’s also protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
Flip it around and you’ll find a dual-camera setup headlined by a 50MP primary sensor, along with a 13MP front-facing camera. Both front and rear setups are supported by dual LED flash, a nice touch — albeit not game-changing.
As for build, the frame is aluminum. The back panel uses a nanofiber composite material, which, if nothing else, gives it a bit of character. It won’t feel cheap in hand, and that alone matters at this tier.
But yes, there’s a catch — the chip
Let’s get to the tradeoff. This thing runs on the MediaTek Helio G200 — a fairly low-end chipset. Not ancient, and certainly not unusable, but it’s no match for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or even the mid-tier Dimensity 8200. It’s probably fine for everyday stuff — browsing, social, light gaming — but anything beyond that? You’ll hit walls. That said, it comes with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, which should help smooth over some of the performance limitations.
Fast charging is supported at 45W, which again, isn’t top-tier fast, but feels entirely reasonable given the size of the battery and the phone’s price class.
Style, color, and price (sort of)
Infinix hasn’t confirmed exact pricing yet. That matters — this phone lives or dies by how aggressive the MSRP turns out to be. But what it has shared are the color options, and they’re unusually bold for a device like this. You’ll be able to pick it up in Misty Violet, Cyber Green, Sonic Yellow, Coral Tides, Sleek Black, or Titanium Silver. Some fun, some muted. A decent spread.
So… who’s this phone for?
Not power users. Not gamers. But someone who wants something ultra-thin, light, and modern-looking without burning through their paycheck? That’s the target. And frankly, it might land well with that crowd. Especially if the price hits the sweet spot.
The Hot 60 Pro+ doesn’t pretend to be a Galaxy or a Pixel. But in the thin-and-light category — where battery life often gets sacrificed — this might just hit a nerve. Not with everyone. But with someone.
